Five to six hours from Manila by land travel, Ilocos Sur will surprise you and make you reconsider your blurry thoughts about the country fed from mixed, negative reports by typical news sources. The province displays a totally different ambience than any of the metropolitan destinations in the country. It generally has a quaint, warmly attractive appearance, most probably because of the parched feel of the weather than in most locations in the country. Still, the sea breeze from South China Sea can always be experienced blowing and swirling all around you. The mountain ranges on the east side may seemingly be holding it back from moving much further.
