On the steps I've taken to make life at past age 40 more meaningful, purposeful. Occasional rants & raves, too. And I've since, then, discovered by being with many teams that I'm taking lead primarily to accomplish goals I've selfishly set for myself and which I constantly & creatively peddle to my teammates LOL

Travel destinations: Olongapo City, Philippines
Note:
This whole article can be found in my Helium.com account, which I'm reposting here for other readers who may get access to it through this blogsite. Olongapo City is in Subic Bay in the Philippines, which has inspired many to create something artistic or something artsy. It the city where one of the singers of the well-known group 'Black Eyed Peas' grew up before he migrated to the US. The late Lino Brocka, a Philippine National Artist, directed a movie titled 'Ulo ng Gapo' (which I believe was based on a novel by Lualhati Bautista) in the early 1980s. I remember it being more of a political statement as a movie than an art movie. And I came to Olongapo City many times, even passing by it several times on my way to a branch of my family (maternal side) in Pangasinan. Olongapo has many interesting attractions that are all worth exploring, mainly because it has been under the regime of the Americans when they were still running Subic Bay.
I remember being in Olongapo City" OLONGAPO ST " STREET SIGN CITY PHILIPPINES for several nights when one of my closest friends, who was formerly with a sailor with the US Navy, was visiting with his ship from somewhere. I remember the thrill of being in bars where I met many interesting characters. Olongapo City when the American military establishment was still a force to reckoned here looked really different. It reminded me of some people who would have described Times Square before it was cleaned up. During those thrilling nights, we would wind up staying in cheap but clean motels, the main purposes of which is just to provide a space where people can sleep after long hours of being up in the bars and fun places. It's a place that reminds me of excesses and decadence, to some extent. I think Olongapo City has shifted its image many times over by now.
I remember Olongapo[CAVITE, SUBIG Y OLONGAPO BY Anonymous( Author )]Cavite, Subig y Olongapo[paperback]Nabu Press(Publisher) fondly because of the many occasions when we had to do out company outings there during summer. I went there, too, with several friends when we just wanted to get away from the noise of the big city. Also, my partner and I would hie off to Olongapo whenever we would visit his relatives in Dinalupihan, Bataan. The beaches in Olongapo City are among the best water-based and well-maintained attractions that's close to Metro Manila, the Philippines' National Capital Region.
Here are the first few lines found in the article I wrote about Olongapo as a travel destination:
Accessible by land, air, and water transport means, this highly-urbanized city has become the main anchor in creating and encouraging the ever-growing tourism and other travel-dependent activities in the western part of Luzon (the biggest island of the Philippine archipelago), that faces Southern China Sea. It is actually located in the province of Zambales, where the former US reservation complex, the Subic Naval Base (now converted into a very busy Subic Bay Freeport Zone where various types of businesses all over the world have established their presence), is also located.
