The 2 of us friends showed up 2 weekends ago to watch this play 'ArtCamp SexyTime FootBall' by the
Blessed Unrest at The Interart Theatre on 500 W. 52nd Street, which featured 7 actors doing all sorts of activities that one can imagine doing before a captive audience. I figured most everyone of us must have been enticed by the idea that there would be some
nudity
here, which we did see. It was an interesting, exhilarating show, complete with
choreography
for all the singing, marching,
dancing
,
running,
jumping
done on stage, plus the engagement on various simulated
sexual acts.
It's supposed to be something experimental, some varieties of which I've seen somewhere in the
East Village
.
I enjoyed getting distracted by activities happening all at the same time while I was seated in front. I told one of the audience that it's best to be seated in front when there's supposed to be
nudity
- to which she must have agreed as she sat herself in front. I like a segment where 1 actor kept on talking in a foreign language while the other actors are into their acts that reminded me of people moving in and out of the streets of
New York City
.
While watching it, I had memories about a former patient of mine whom I'd do part-time caregiving work when he was still around. He's the son of the playwright
Bertolt Brecht
. I remember during his memorial the footages of short films showing him acting on
experimental theatre
--- he was acting just like the actors who were in
ArtCamp SexyTime FootBall. It looked like they're enjoying themselves. I do hope these shows will continue to be offered to the public, as among the ready choices for theatregoers / enthusiasts like myself.
